Andrea Stanton

It is with great sadness and heavy heart that we at Walsall Outreach announce the passing of our colleague, friend and inspiration, Andrea Stanton.

Andrea’s family informed us of Andrea’s passing last Wednesday. We are devastated at the loss of an incredible person who has been at the heart of what we do, serving the most vulnerable members of our community, for nearly a decade.

Andrea meant so much to everyone; to her family, her friends, to our Walsall Outreach team and the community as a whole. Walsall has lost one of it’s true greats.

It is difficult to find big enough words to describe someone who talked personally to numerous individuals and families almost daily throughout the pandemic, comforting them and sometimes being their only contact with the outside world. Many of these people have told us that they would not be here today if it wasn’t for Andrea’s love and support.

Andrea has helped to organise the delivery of over 4,000 food parcels to families and individuals in need in recent days.

Andrea turned up week after week, year after year, to serve hot meals to homeless people in Walsall town centre, knew their names, baked puddings for them, made jam for them and virtually gave them the clothes off her back.

Andrea was also an instrumental part of supporting pensioners in the borough and was the secretary of the Pensioners Convention.

Our deepest condolences are with Andrea’s family and friends as this very sad time.

Andrea, you may be gone but you will NEVER be forgotten. We love you ❤️.
